Celebrating SuiteFiles’ 10th Anniversary

By March 31, 2022September 5th, 2022No Comments

April 1st 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of SuiteFiles. For a decade now, we’ve been set on saving businesses time and helping them deliver their best work from the cloud. If you’d like to follow our story, you can, from the announcement of SuiteFiles to our 2nd and 3rd birthdays and more.

Growing up has come with a lot of change. For starters, we look different. What was once a cloud in orange, and then blue, has now flashed into a multi coloured lightning bolt.

Over the years, more and more businesses have been choosing SuiteFiles as their document management solution. Currently there are over 9,000 users creating, editing and storing their most important files in Suite. Soon we’ll be adding another digit to that number so be on the lookout for another exciting milestone.

Taking on more customers has also meant interacting with businesses from all over the world. As it stands, we’re looking after customers across New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Delivering a world-class product is at the heart of what we do. To see how far we’ve come, just look at the differences between our old and new interfaces!

We’re still sporting the same sleek automations with Xero, Xero Practice Manager and WorkflowMax but now with even more functionality. Our developers have been busy enhancing SuiteFiles with over 1000 pull requests completed in the last year. That means 1000 changes have been made to advance SuiteFiles’ core code!

We’ve even broadened our scope for SuiteFiles, making additions like a client portal, task management, PDF functionality and digital signing to become the hub for document creation and management. Our digital signing offering has been especially popular, completing 168,000 signed documents in 2021 alone.

It makes it so easy to create a Letter of Engagement, and now that e-signing is available, SuiteFiles has become an end-to-end solution. – Maggie, Elevate 365

Along the way we’ve received some recognition. SuiteFiles got off to a hot start being named Microsoft’s start-up partner of the year at their 2012 partner awards. This has been followed by 2 Xero app partner of the month awards – once in October 2019 and again in July 2021. As well as shoutouts in publications like Acuity

These awards and shoutouts are a token of how far we’ve come. To put things into perspective we asked SuiteFiles CEO Andrew Sims to reflect on the journey of Suite.

“Basically, when Office 365 was emerging, Rod Drury asked one of our shareholders if they could do something to manage files for Xero customers. They gave it a go and found it wasn’t going to be a quick solve. So, SuiteFiles’ first CTO and I took on the challenge.

After enlisting some brilliant visual designers, we got to work creating an easily navigable interface suited to the needs of accountants. Soon enough, we had a solution which fully integrated with Microsoft applications like Word, Excel and Outlook and gave businesses the assurance they needed to turn off their servers.

During this time, we leant heavily on initial trust of our customers. Thanks to the early adoption of SuiteFiles by businesses like Convex Accounting, we’ve been able to refine our offering and earn the responsibility of handling their documents and exchanges with clients.

10 years on, I think the greatest measure of success is whether your customers choose to stay once they’ve got to know how your app’s features work for them, your app’s reliability and your customer service. We don’t always get it right and our customers let us know any time that we don’t! This might sound odd, but we appreciate critical feedback because it’s an investment in us. I’m proud to say customer attrition isn’t a problem we have thanks to our loyal customers.”

To wrap up the celebrations, we’d like to say a big thank you to all of our customers who’ve invested in SuiteFiles and pushed us toward this milestone. We look forward to becoming an even more indispensable solution for your business.

Finally, we’d like to extend a thanks to everyone who has helped build SuiteFiles into what it is today, we appreciate your contributions and hope you’re celebrating somewhere too.
