Amy Holdsworth, CEO of Clarity Street
Amy gained her training wheels in the accounting industry 15 years ago working for one of the first accounting practices in Australia to start the cloud software journey. Her role among other things at the time was to adopt WorkflowMax as it was known then, before Xero even acquired it to make it Xero Practice Manager, as a replacement for their server based PM system. “You almost have to try and break a piece of software and make it work the way you’d like it to, to work out what it will and won’t do”.
Trying to mash old processes into software, doesn’t work, so mindset changes to adopt were needed. Since that very first role, she has been part of the PSP channel for Xero implementing Xero Practice Manager, worked in firms as a Practice Manager, with the team at Ignition in their earlier days and worked with hundreds of firms implementing best of breed cloud accounting software.
She started Clarity Street after the realisation that none of the individual software providers in the ecosystem, had the time or the knowledge of how all of the cloud apps should be set up, to provide an efficient client lifecycle with clean dataflows between the apps. Clarity Street has been helping Accounting Practices get the most out their cloud app stack, reducing friction and increasing adoption for over 6 years now.
Andrew Sims, CEO of SuiteFiles
Andrew started SuiteFiles the way many great ideas get started — through a casual conversation between mates. It wasn’t about the latest rugby game; it was about a gap they saw in the market for a document management system designed specifically for professional services. This was around the time Microsoft 365 was launching, which they knew would change the game for workplaces. But there was a catch—tools like SharePoint were just too complex for many businesses to set up effectively.
“We thought there had to be a better way, so we created SuiteFiles. The idea was simple: make it easier for businesses to use the cloud confidently and efficiently. Our pitch to Rod Drury, the founder of Xero, really solidified our direction. He saw the potential, and that partnership helped kick everything into high gear.”
Since then, SuiteFiles has grown from a basic document management system to a comprehensive intelligent workspace that’s now serving over 12,000 users globally. SuiteFiles isn’t just about managing files anymore; it’s about transforming how businesses operate digitally. They set out to simplify cloud adoption but ended up redefining business workflows entirely. It’s been quite the journey!
